In this book, Ibn Hajar has explained the major sins and what is related to them in terms of judgment, rebuke, promise and warning. He arranged it in the form of an introduction and two Chapters. The Introduction gave a definition of the major sin and what happened to people who committed major sins.  Imam Ibn Hajar’s work here identifies 467 sins arranged in Fiqh Chapters

The Two Chapters tackle the apparent Major Sins. Imam Ibn Hajar arranged them according to the order of the Chapters of jurisprudence, according to the Shafi’i School of Thought. As for the details of its ranks with regard to its obscenity and evilness, he tackled each major sin separately.

In the conclusion, Ibn Hajar mentioned the virtues of repentance. As for its conditions and what is related to it, he mentioned it in the section on testimonies; then he mentioned the hellfire, its characteristics, and the types of deterrents and painful punishment that it contained. At the end he mentioned Paradise, its attributes, and the types of rewards, prosperity, and bliss that it contains.
