Kitab al-Mawa'idh by Imam Al-Qasim ibn Sallam (224H)

This is a more comprehensive edition of a previously printed book, which is the Kitab al-Mawaa’idh by the great Imam Abu Ubaid Al-Qasim ibn Salam, may Allah have mercy on him, one of the prominent early scholars who excelled in the fields of language, recitations, and jurisprudence. He was a companion of Al-Shafi'i and Ahmad.

The editor of the previous edition was not well-versed in Hadith, its chains of transmission, and the narrators, which led to many Hadith-related errors, in addition to relying on a poor-quality manuscript. The editor of this new print, Farid bin Muhammad Fuwaila, provided a good biography of the author, discussed the old edition and manuscripts of the book, then presented the Hadiths of Kitab al-Mawaa’idh, elaborating on them with corrections, comments, explanations of defects, supporting evidence, and corroborations. He then added a long appendix narrated by Al-Qasim ibn Salam's student from his Sheikh. Thus, the book in our hands consists of two books: the well-known Kitab al-Mawaa’idh, and an additional Hadith section.

The first part includes the sermons of the prophets, then the sermons of Muhammad, peace be upon him, followed by the sermons of the companions, and so on. The second part, which is being published for the first time, includes 33 Hadiths with extensive verification and commentary.
