The Maqamat of Imam al-Hariri al-Basri (author of Mulhatul-I'rab) is a classic of Arab literature. Style founded by al-Hamadhani which relates stories narrated orally in saj '(rhymed and rhythmic prose).
The Maqamat (Assemblies) of Al-Hariri also become more famous than that of their inventor.
