Because issues of names and rulings, as well as issues of disbelief and faith, are among the most important chapters of religion and have the greatest impact, as they are related to a large number of worldly and afterlife rulings, and these issues had attachments and results that formed the features of many events in Muslim history and reality.

And because the issue of atonement was tampered with by the hands of extremism and leniency, and it produced sayings characterized by haste in writing, poor systematic accuracy, and a lack of discipline as required by the texts of revelation, in addition to the absence and weakness of activating the legal determinants and precise fundamentalist rules that control the path of producing a legal ruling of this gravity.

The author has sought, through a clear fundamental methodology and Qura’nic and prophetic references, to clarify the rules governing the issue of Takfir of a specific individual, to examine its origins, and to strip its legitimacy from the intertwined and overlapping issues attached to it due to the complexities of reality and the short-sighted scrutiny of the legal rules. The author has also clarified the arguments for Takfir and aspects of its prevention, by discussing the facts and conditions that necessitate Takfir and involve its prohibition, and he appended all of this with critical discussions of some of the arguments for Takfir of the people of the two testimonies, and the flaw that some of those who researched these issues fell into.
