However, people of innovation have exploited it in interpreting doctrinal issues, whether related to the names and attributes, faith, predestination, and others. The author, Abdulmohsen bin Abdulaziz Al-Askar, intended with this book to refute the argument of the innovators by showing that there are rules and principles for metaphors overlooked by the innovators. He shows that their use of metaphor in interpretation is not just a theological error but also a linguistic mistake in the science of rhetoric.
