An excellent book, Muhtawayaat Suwar Al-Qur’an is The content List of the Surahs in the Noble Qur’an, where each Sura is summarized in 3/4 pages.

The writer gives a general definition of each surah of the Qur’an, such as the topics of the surah, the reasons for its revelation, the names of the surah and its virtues. It is a good start for a general knowledge on the subjects of the Qur'an.
