Risalah fi Ta'lim an-Nisaa al-Kitabah - Al-Madrassi al-Shafi'i

Risalah debating the status of learning the writting for women. There are indeed some Hadiths that are in the direction of permission and some that are in the direction of prohibition.

Shaykh Muhaddith Sibghatullah al-Madrassi (1280H) wrote a Risalah detailing this topic, stating in turn the opinions and proofs of both sides. He then quotes a fatwa of Ibn Hajar al-Haythami and discusses the authenticity of the evidence.

At the end of the book is also a commentary by Sheikh Rashid Reda and a Fatawa by Imam ash-Shawkani on the issue.
