At-Tawdih fi sharh al-Mukhtasar Ibn al-Hājib - Imam Khalil

This book, “At-Tawdih fi sharh al-Mukhtasar al-far’i li-Ibn al-Hājib”, by Imam Sheikh al-Faqih Khalil Ibn Ishaq al-Maliki, known as Al-Jundi (died in 776 AH), is the most annotated book of Ibn al-Hajib’s “Jami’ al-Ummahat”. It is the most useful, beneficial and famous book.

Imam Khalil Al-Jundi studied Ibn al-Hajib’s book, solving its problems and clarifying its ambiguous issues, relying on the sayings of the scholars of the Maliki School, which are transmitted in their famous books, and on the explanations of the preceded books.

This book, “At-Tawdih fi sharh al-Mukhtasar”, has received great acclaim and attention from the Maliki Scholars to the extent that the later ones have confined themselves to this book and to “Al-Mukhtasar”. In this regard, Al-Qarāfī says: “People have accepted and embarked on reading and studying his two books: “Al-Mukhtasar” and “At-Tawdih”.
