Regarding the 2 Raka'at before Maghreb - Al-Hakim (with Annotations)
الكلام على الركعتين قبل المغرب للحاكم
The source of this work is a Risalah written by Imam al-Hakim (405H) about doing two prayer units before the Maghreb. This Risala is summarized here by the Muhaddith Hanafi Ibn ach-Chahnah (890H). The Risala brings together the hadiths on the subject and some comments.
The Muhaqqiq of the Risala wrote a preface on both Hafidh and on the subject. He also significantly annotated the Risala by bringing back many important benefits by doing a complete Takhreej of hadeeth and mentioning the comments of some Imams.
