Qisas min at-Tarikh - Shaykh Ali al-Tantawi

There are twenty-three stories in the book, and they were written in a style that spreads life to the point where it brings tears - sometimes - from the eyes of its reader, and even makes one believe that he is one of its heroes and characters, who goes with them and comes, suffers with them and rejoices, and almost lives with them and dies!

They are drawn from various eras, ranging from the days of ignorance to the last century. There are stories from the pre-Islamic era, from Taif in the last days of the pre-Islamic era and the first days of Islam, the Hijaz at the start of the Umayyad era, and Samarkand in the early days of the conquest.
