This biography was written by an unknown author from the third century AH. It was prepared by Sheikh Muhammad al-Tabarani, who discovered the manuscript, documented it, and provided excellent scholarly service to the texts and traditions contained in the book. It was published by the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies. The book covers the biography of the ascetic Umayyad Caliph Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz (died in 101 AH), who was titled the fifth of the Rightly Guided Caliphs for his justice, asceticism, and reforms.
