This book, by the devout scholar Sheikh Muhammad ibn Ahmed ibn Al-Muhibb Al-Samit (d. in the year 788), combines between its book of narrative and book of belief; making it a huge volume of (475) sheets, in each sheet are two pages filled with footnotes that contain abundant knowledge.
The author has shaped this book into parts, each part discussed a particular type of belief with its appropriate narrations of Hadiths and traditions and related chains of transmission. He mentioned the extraction and verification of many of these Hadiths by the scholars in their books and may have perhaps added his opinion or that the words of scholars in this regard.
The book includes some valuable statements by Sheikh of Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, which did not reach us in another book. Some of these statements were recorded by the author himself directly from the Sheikh, or were dictated by the Sheikh to him or were sanctioned by the Sheikh to him.
It is indeed one of the most valuable books on the Islamic creed.
