The Virtues of the Qur'an – Abu ‘Ubaid Al-Qasim ibn Sallaam Al-Harawi

This Book includes seventy-one chapters on issues related to the Noble Qur’an, and these issues can be divided into five sections:

First Section deals with issues related to the virtue of the Qur’an, following its directives, acting upon it, venerating its people, and so on.

Second Section deals with the virtues of the Surahs and Verses of the Qur’an.

Third Section relates to the memorizer and reciter of the Qur’an.

Fourth Section relates to the copy of the Qur’an and its pertinent rulings, like buying and selling.

Fifth Section relates to the recitations of the Qur’an and its letters.

Abu ‘Ubaid classified the book, giving each chapter a title, under which he listed suitable Hadiths and traditions.

Abu ‘Ubaid commented on some of the texts which he mentioned with a vague or complex explanation, or an explanation of a legal ruling included in the texts.
