Nikat al-Quran - Abi Muhammad al-Muqri (395H)

نكات القرآن لأبي محمد الجاولي المقرئ

The book (Nikat Al-Qur’an) is one of the books that took interest in analysing the Book of Allah, collecting all related sciences in concise words and a brief style. The author has attached importance to the method of recitations (Qiraa’at), explaining the diversity of the Qur’an reciters regarding different words. He then mentioned their reason and argument in terms of language and meaning. He mentioned the opinions of the interpreters, and the recitations of the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them. He also defined the Suras revealed in Makkah and the ones revealed in Madinah, and the number of Verses. All this justifies the title of the book (Nikat al-Qur’an) as it does not specialize in the method of recitations or guidance, but rather takes from every science a story and benefits.

Given the time of writing the book (before 395 AH), which was the time of recording and narration, it is considered an essential source for the sciences that he had embarked upon the advancement of the book’s time makes it a source of many uncommon methods of recitations of the seven imams (reciters) and of the number of Verses and opinions of the interpreters. In addition to the author’s knowledge of the methods of recitations, his purpose in writing the book is to clarify the conformity or harmony of the Qur’anic recitation with Arabic, being the third pillar of the approved recitation, which makes the book suitable for those who specialize in the methods of recitation and its disciplines.

Very beautiful Saudi edition in 2 volumes, verified from the manuscripts and annotated by 4 researchers.
