The Muhaddith Abdelfattah Abu Ghudda has gathered here 3 letters written from the pen of the great Imams. They are correspondence in which the Imams discuss legal and technical matters and advance their point of view.
The first is the letter written by Imam Abu Hanifa to 'Uthman al-Batti, the second is the letter written by Imam Malik ibn Anas to Imam al-Layth ibn Sa'd, and finally the last is the al-Layth ibn Sa'd's response to Imam Malik.
The purpose of this collection, with its additional notes and other examples cited in conclusion, and to show the behavior adopted by the great exemplary imams in their discussion of the Fiqh subjects and their Adab in the divergence.
