Siraj as-Salik Sharh As-hal al-Masalik - Uthman al-Ju'ali al-Maliki

The book “Sirāj as-Sālik Sharḥ As’hal al-Masālik li-Naẓm Targhīb al-Murīd al-Sālik” was written by the jurist ‘Uthmān ibn Ḥasanayn Birrī al-Ja’li al-Māliki; it is an interpretation of the poetic composition “Ashal al-Masālik li-Naẓm Targhīb al-Murīd as-Sālik” that followed the School of Thought of Imām Mālik ibn Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, and was written by Muḥammad al-Bashshār.

The author combined accuracy and simplicity, which indicates superior ability and extra proficiency. His interpretation was neither boring in length nor short of meeting its objective, turning the book into a source that cannot be dispensed with.

The explanation focused briefly on the analysis of the words and the clarification of their meaning, as long as there was no necessity for lengthening otherwise required by a particular situation; because in such case, it would be necessary for the commentator to elaborate longer to complete the benefit with his definition of the parts and chapters, and what needs to be defined in terms of words.
