The Mongols in the Writings of Ibn Taymiyyah

المغول في كتابات ابن تيمية - مي بنت عبدالله شحاتة

The Mongols in the Writings of Ibn Taymiyyah by May bint Abdullah Shuhata

In 220 pages, the author explores the history of the Mongols, their beliefs, and their invasions of Muslim lands, along with the stance of scholars towards them. All of this information is derived from the writings of Ibn Taymiyyah about the Mongols in his books. Although he did not write history himself, eight of his students are considered among the most important Islamic historians of his time.

This book is therefore of dual interest from a religious point of view as regards the Mongols, but also from a historical point of view, as Ibn Taymiyyah was contemporary with their invasion.
