Al-Badr al-Munir: simple commentary to Matn Khalil by Kamilah Kuwari

This excellent work (2 volumes and 1200 pages) by Sheikha Kamilah al-Kuwari aims to explain the famous Maliki Fiqh work, Matn Khalil, in a simple and beginner-friendly way.

The explanation of the Matn are linear and reads like a conventional book, although the Matn can be distinguished from the commentary by the red and black colours. There are also numerous annotations detailing certain phrases or legal issues, as well as several quotations from the Maliki Imams on these issues, so that those who wish to have recourse to more complete sources may do so.
